Frequently Asked Questions
-
Private training is a collaborative coaching experience for both you and your dog. Instead of sending your dog away or working in a chaotic group class, our highly skilled trainers provide dedicated, one-on-one guidance.
During these 1-hour sessions, we break down your dog's specific behavioral issues, explain the psychology behind them, and teach you the exact handling skills and tools needed to continue making progress between our visits.
-
Our private sessions are highly customized to address whatever is causing friction in your life. We routinely work on a wide array of behaviors, including:
Leash pulling: Teaching a polite, loose-lead walk so outings are relaxing again.
Reactivity: Helping dogs who bark, lunge, or become overly stressed when seeing other dogs or people.
Separation anxiety: Building confidence so your dog can stay calm when left home alone.
Household manners: Stopping unwanted behaviours like jumping on house guests, counter surfing, or excessive barking.
-
Every private booking is structured to give you maximum value and long-term success:
1-hour intensive coaching: Focused entirely on you and your dog.
Behavioral breakdown: An expert analysis of why the issue is happening and how to fix it.
Hands-on tools: Real-time feedback on your handling skills so you feel confident training solo.
Custom training plan: A clear, step-by-step roadmap delivered after the session to keep you on track.
-
Group classes are great for generic obedience, but they cannot address deep-seated behavioral issues like anxiety, severe pulling, or reactivity.
Private training gives you the trainer's undivided attention. We move entirely at your dog's pace, set up controlled scenarios that match your exact living situation, and ensure you aren't fighting for attention in a room full of other dogs. It’s a faster, less stressful, and far more effective way to achieve real-world results.
-
Because every dog, household, and behavioral history is completely unique, there is no one-size-fits-all answer. Simple issues like greeting guests politely can often be turned around in a few sessions, while deep-seated habits like leash reactivity or severe separation anxiety require ongoing consistency.
During your very first session, we will assess your dog and map out an honest, transparent plan moving forward.
